What are Orthotics?
Orthotics are devices which fit into your shoes to help with proper alignment of feet, ankles, and knees. Through motion control and stabilization, they allow proper biomechanics of the lower extremities.

Types of Orthotics

Off the Shelf
Typically an arch support to help correct "fallen arches" or special insert for plantar fasciitis, both based on shoe size, improve cushioning and shock absorption. A recommended brand is Spenco and can be found in most sporting goods stores.

Heel Inserts
These custom molded orthotics are beneficial in treating moderate overpronation with low back pain, hip pain, knee pain, or plantar fasciitis. They are most effective in correcting rear foot dysfunctions.

Full-Custom
A thorough evaluation is made again of the way you walk, rear and forefoot "neutral" are found and a person is then casted. Casts are sent out and the finished product arrives back in 2-3 weeks. Full custom orthotics is most beneficial for severe overpronation and knock kneedness.
